Eterno : What made you enter the fashion industry ?
Aishwarya: I've been a creative person since the beginning. I was always fond of arts and crafts and found joy in anything artistic. My journey into fashion started with frustration because ready-made clothes never fit me well. I remember constantly complaining to my mom about it, and one day she said, "Once you grow up, you can become a fashion designer." Those words stuck with me, and my early interest in art and painting naturally led me to pursue a career in fashion.
Eterno : How did styling for Manushi Chhillar shape your design approach?
Aishwarya: It was a life-changing experience for me. As an assistant stylist, I had the opportunity to source outfits from designers such as Michael Cinco, Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahilani and many more. Observing the craftsmanship and attention to detail helped me grow more creatively, blending innovation with elegance in my own work.
Eterno : Can you tell us your journey of Label Aishwarya Raka?
Aishwarya: It all started when I was freelancing alongside a full-time job and thought about starting my own label. My passion for fashion kept me motivated, and after gaining a lot of knowledge and experience, I decided to launch my own brand. Label Aishwarya Raka was founded 2.5 years ago. I want my brand not only to grow but also to provide meaningful services. Currently, I am focusing on empowering women by offering them opportunities to learn and grow, which has given me immense satisfaction. Knowing that the brand is making a positive impact is deeply rewarding. The journey has had its highs and lows, but every step has been worth it as I continue to build a brand with purpose and heart.
Eterno: What are some of the key influencers behind your designs?
Aishwarya: My influences vary from one outfit to another. For traditional wear, I draw inspiration from the rich heritage and culture of our country, often incorporating elements from vintage or floral. For western clothing, I’m inspired by my artistic side, adding colors and creative touches to make each piece unique.
Eterno : Can you describe a particularly challenging project you have worked on and how did you overcame it?
Aishwarya : The most challenging project for me was designing an outfit for a pageant, inspired by Rani Lakshmi Bai. It was for the costume round, where models typically choose to wear sarees, but I wanted to go beyond tradition to create something inspiring. The challenge was to represent three sides of Rani Lakshmi Bai—as a mother, a warrior, and a queen. To achieve this, I designed a reversible outfit, which was tricky, especially as the contestant was based in the USA and we coordinated everything over calls. It wasn’t easy, but dedication kept me going. This project brought me a lot of recognition—I was featured in Hindustan Times, other newspapers, and even on the radio. To capture three Personalities in one design was very challenging.
Eterno: How has Mumbai influenced your fashion and jewellery choices?
Aishwarya : Mumbai is often known as the fashion capital of India, with styles that vary across the city—from the elegance of South Bombay to the street style of Bandra. This range includes everything from traditional jewelry to contemporary designs.
Eterno : What would you prefer Bombay Sandwich or Anand Dosa?
Aishwarya: I would love to have both, as they’re both famous street foods. But if I had to choose, I’d go for Anand Dosa.
Eterno : Are you a jewellery enthusiast, What is your go to piece of jewellery, If yes then what’s your go to piece of jewellery?
Aishwarya: I am a jewelry enthusiast! My go-to piece of jewelry is earrings because I just put them on and head out. I also wear necklaces sometimes to add a touch of elegance to my outfits.
Eterno : What do you like the most about Eterno?
Aishwarya : I like that every piece from Eterno has a personalized touch and a meaningful story. Each piece is unique in its own way, and the minimal jewelry style complements any outfit.
Thankyou.
